SIA Close Protection (REFRESHER) Course
SIA Close Protection Operative (Refresher) Course
13th to 15th May 2026
The SIA Close Protection Refresher Course is delivered as a blended programme over two and a half classroom days, with some pre-course learning tasks to be completed at home before attending.
To enrol, learners must hold a minimum of a First Aid at Work (3-day) qualification with at least 12 months of validity remaining on the start date of the Close Protection course.
Before attending the practical elements of the course in the classroom students are required to complete both the ACT Security e learning and ACT Awareness Course and also complete the QNUK Close Protection pre course work book.
While pre-hospital care qualifications such as FREC, FPOS, or ECFR are not mandatory, they are highly recommended to enhance your knowledge and skills.
All relevant certificates must be presented to the tutor on arrival as evidence that you meet the course’s pre-requisite requirements.
The course runs daily from 8:30 a.m., with a 30-minute lunch break.
Further details, including any pre-course work, will be provided once you have successfully enrolled.
Upon completing the course and passing all required exams, you will receive your qualification certificate. This certificate allows you to apply for your SIA Close Protection Licence. The application process is straightforward, and a step-by-step guide is available on our blog should you require assistance.
